When you’re already on the back foot and under pressure in a team sport, an error from a teammate can feel like rubbing salt in the wound. The feeling for Rajasthan Royals bowler Sandeep Sharma was similar to his teammate Yashasvi Jaiswal’s foul throw hitting him in the chest, leaving him grimacing.

Captaining an IPL team for the first time, Riyan Parag’s ploy to field first against the Sunrisers Hyderabad backfired against the home openers. Abhishek Sharma and Travis Head continued from where they left in the previous edition, tonking the opposition bowlers all around the park. Although the Indian youngster was dismissed inside the 94-run powerplay, Ishan Kishan’s addition epitomized the carnage against the Royals. Amidst the exerted pressure, Jaiswal’s wayward throw hit Sandeep, adding further misery.

On the fifth ball of the seventh over, Sandeep bowled a full-pitched ball outside the off stump against Head who punched it towards long off. Jaiswal fielding there, hurled the ball towards the bowler who was unaware of it while conversing with Head. As a result, the ball thudded the chest of Sandeep, leaving him grimacing in pain. Although Jaiswal seemed apologetic by his gestures, the Twitterverse called for adding misery to their issues.
