Saturday was a day of double-headers but it turned out to be a double blockbuster. Two matches, tons of boundaries, endless memories, and numerous records. Overall it can be said that this was a day for the batters to remember.

Saturday featured two IPL games, and both of them were equally fantastic. Delhi Capitals and Punjab Kings ended up to be high scorers, as Punjab Kings completed the highest chase in the IPL history. KL Rahul also went on to create the record of the most runs in an IPL innings as an Indian.

Later it was the clash between Rajasthan Royals and Sunrisers Hyderabad. With two aggressive teams, the match turned out to be a blockbuster. RR posted a target of 229 runs, which was also chased down in just 18.3 overs. Vaibhav Sooryavanshi bashed a 36-ball century in this game, as Ishan Kishan delivered a match winning knock for SRH.

Overall, this day created history with a massive total of 986 runs being scored. Along with that, fans saw the highest and the fourth highest chase completed in the history of the tournament. This day can perfectly be defined as a dream day for the batsmen, and one to forget for the bowlers.

Our Take

The IPL has been more oriented to the batters, as compared to the bowlers. And the two games which took place on Saturday have been the prime examples of the same. Still, the batters stole the show pretty well in both the games, as all the teams managed to cross the 200 run mark in a single day. The knocks of KL Rahul and Vaibhav Sooryavanshi will be remembered, but the knocks of Shreyas Iyer, Prabhsimran Singh, and Ishan Kishan cannot be undermined.

Ishan Kishan has turned out to be the real game-changer for Sunrisers Hyderabad. A few seasons back, he was released from Mumbai Indians over his poor performances. But SRH seized the moment to get him to their line-up, as he continues to shape their campaign in IPL 2026.
