The Test series between Bangladesh and Australia has come to an end with a draw. Both teams have managed to secure a win each in this series, and it has eventually boosted chances for India to reach the WTC finals. With Bangladesh losing the second Test, they still remain at the fourth spot with 55.55 PCT.

India is currently playing the second Test against Sri Lanka, and is already standing in a strong position. If India manages to win this game, their PCT will increase to 57.57%, which will also put them above Bangladesh in the standings.

However, India will still have to play seven Test matches in this cycle. And including this Test against Sri Lanka, if India manages to win seven out of the remaining eight Tests, their PCT will climb up to 68.52. And if the team manages to win six out of eight Tests, it will still put their PCT at 62.96.

Our Take

Each and every game will be turning out to be a do-or-die for Shubman Gill and the Indian team. India has not won a single Test match in New Zealand since 2009, which will make the New Zealand challenge a lot harder for the team which is already in a transition phase. Against Australia also, Shubman Gill and company will aim to take revenge for the previous BGT loss.
