Jos Buttler, England's renowned batsman, had a disaster in the T20 World Cup. After his poor performances, it still remains unclear whether he will be a part of the team in the near future or not. However, Buttler has recently expressed his desire to play for England in the upcoming matches.

Jos Buttler remains under scrutiny after not being able to do well for England in the T20 World Cup 2026. The team managed to reach the semi-finals against England, but Jos Buttler was unable to give his best for the team. This has also raised some concerns, as fans speculate that he could be dropped from the team.

Reacting to his poor performances, Buttler also spoke about his comeback in an interview. He said, “I certainly have ambitions (to play for England), but no longer being a captain. I am not a selector and whatever, so what will be, will be. Yeah, we will see.”

Buttler is currently participating in the IPL 2026, as he plays for Gujarat Titans. But his form remains a concern even for the team, despite his experience. Playing 8 games in the T20 World Cup 2026, he was able to score just 87 runs at an average of 10.87 with a high score of 26.

Our Take

Jos Buttler has been a veteran for Gujarat Titans and England cricket team. His recent form comes as a big concern, but he will be looking forward to making a comeback in the IPL. Gujarat Titans have experience in their batting line-up with the inclusion of Jos Buttler.

With players like Shubman Gill and Sai Sudharsan accompanying him at the top, Buttler could utilise this opportunity to bring his comeback to the game. After the IPL, England will be preparing itself for the series against India. If he is able to prove his worth to the selectors, he would find his spot back again in the team.
