Gujarat Titans have got themselves a place in the Tata IPL Qualifier 1. And in this process, the team also went on to eliminate Chennai Super Kings from the same. CSK suffered an 89-run loss to GT in the closing game, effectively ruling them out for the playoffs this season.

For the third consecutive time, Chennai Super Kings have failed to reach the playoffs of the tournament. This was their last time doing the same, which was back in 2023 when they last had a championship. However, since then, the team have dropped out of the playoffs three times.

Yesterday, the Chennai Super Kings went against the Gujarat Titans in their last league game. If CSK had won the game, they would have remained in the playoff race. Gujarat Titans were sent to bat first in this game, as Shubman Gill, Sai Sudharsan, and Jos Buttler powered the team to post a massive total of 229/4.

Chennai Super Kings had a strong batting line-up. But it all fell down to Mohammed Siraj, who dismissed the top order in the powerplay itself. Kagiso Rabada and Rashid Khan also finished with 3 wickets each, ending CSK's innings at 140. With this win, GT confirmed its position in Qualifier 1, and CSK was knocked out of the tournament.

Here's how fans have reacted to GT's win over CSK.

Raina’s Reaction

Suresh Raina stood in the commentary panel and he wouldn't be happy with such a performance by CSK. He will surely think that this is not the CSK for which he used to play.

Record Breaking

This match was not just a loss which knocked CSK out of the tournament. It was a loss which created history, as CSK lost by the biggest margin in their IPL history.

Legacy Lost

CSK fans are now thinking that the team has lost all the aura which it had earlier. The legacy which was built by MS Dhoni for this team has now been crushed.
