Manchester United's out of favour forward Alexis Sanchez is all set to join Serie A giants Inter Milan on loan. Inter's newly appointed boss, Antonio Conte, is eager to make sure that the Chilean International joins the club before the European transfer deadline closes on September 2.

According to The Guardian, the two clubs have been in discussion over the deal a couple of weeks from now, and an agreement has finally been reached. The loan period is of 10 months, and the Serie A giants will pay £175,000 of Alexis Sanchez’s £390,000 weekly salary, while the player himself is set to undergo his medicals on Wednesday.

With the departure of the Chilean International, the Red Devils will face a dearth of attacking options, with only Marcus Rashford, Anthony Martial, and Mason Greenwood available as strikers. The club is also awaiting tests results on Martial after he was left limping during the final stages of the match against Crystal Palace.

Alexis Sanchez is Manchester United's highest earner with £390,000 a week, however, the Chilean hasn't been able to live up to expectations following his move from Arsenal in 2018. The 30 year old has hardly made an impression on the first team, scoring only three goals in 32 league appearances and hence the club is eager to offload him. If the transfer works out, Sanchez will be reunited with former United striker Romelu Lukaku, who joined the Nerazzurri on a £74m deal this summer.
