Former LA Galaxy star Zlatan Ibrahimovic risks missing out on a move to AC Milan if the Swedish international doesn’t lower his wage demands. The mercurial striker has plied his trade across the world including at Barcelona and Manchester United and has become the most successful journeyman.

Having left LA Galaxy at the end of his contract with the MLS side, Ibrahimovic casually announced that he could still play and that he wanted to play in Europe again. That was substantiated with an interview, where he admitted that a move to Europe is on the cards after he became a free agent in December and he also added that Italy was his top destination.

Since then, rumours have linked the former Barcelona striker with a move to Inter Milan, Genoa, Bologna, Atletico Madrid, Manchester United, Tottenham and now AC Milan. However, of those clubs, it’s the last one, the Rossoneri that represents an option for Ibrahimovic. The San Siro side are looking for goals and contract has already been made between the 38-year-old and the club.

But ESPN has reported that the former Manchester United striker will have to lower his €230,000 per week wages demands if he wants the move to go through. The report further added that while Milan are moving forward cautiously, there are few at the club that believes the Swedish international would not help their cause despite their current crop of strikers struggling.
