Lautaro Martinez has admitted that he’s happy at Inter Milan despite interest from Barcelona, Manchester City, Real Madrid and a few other European giants. The Argentine has had a sensational start to the season with 13 goals in 19 appearances which includes 5 goals in 5 Champions League games.

The 22-year-old’s goals have played an immense part in firing Inter Milan to the top of the Serie A and it puts them just one point clear of the Old Lady after fourteen matches. Alongside Romelu Lukaku, who has 11 goals in 18 appearances, the duo have been the Nerazzurri’s main threat up-front and have caused problems for nearly every side they have faced so far. However, with Lukaku joining the Serie A giants over the summer window, it’s Martinez that has been linked heavily with a move away.

Both Barcelona and Manchester City believe that the Argentine can be long-term replacements for Luis Suarez and Sergio Aguero respectively but Martinez has revealed that he is happy in Italy. The Argentine went on to admit that Antonio Conte has given him a chance and changed his formation to fit two strikers in, which is a chance that he, Martinez, plans to grab with both hands and make the most of it.

"Inter is my home. That's something very important for me. I try to work hard and prove with humility on the pitch that I deserve to wear this shirt. I want to bring as much joy as possible to the Nerazzurri fans and my family. Last year, I played in a team with a coach who played with only one striker in the attack. I knew that in front of me there was the captain, Icardi, the most important player for Inter, and obviously it was very complicated for me to play," Martinez told Sky Sport Italia.

"I always trained to the maximum, but I knew it was like that. I had the chance to play a few minutes but not like I would play now. "This year, I had a great Copa America, then I met Conte, who works at high intensity and treats all players in the same way. This makes everyone train to the maximum. Then there is Romelu, who is a great person on and off the pitch. We are working hard to follow the coach's instructions and take Inter to the top,” he added.
