Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has put a stop to any transfer rumours regarding Gareth Bale, revealing that the Reds do not want the Welshman at all. The 30-year-old has been heavily linked with a move away from the Santiago Bernabeu with Liverpool amongst the bookies’ top side to win the race.

With Arsenal making two big moves over the last few days, Liverpool and naturally Chelsea remain the only Premier League side not to make a big addition in their squad. But winning the Champions League has it’s perks and being linked to an insane number of players is right at the top of that list but it can get irritating at times. That’s exactly what has happened over the last few days, with the Reds being linked with a move for both Gareth Bale and Philippe Coutinho.

While manager Jurgen Klopp has quashed any rumours regarding Coutinho, the rumour regarding Bale has plagued Anfield. However, Klopp has now quashed that as well but also added that there could yet be still some transfer activity. “These fantastic football players have some strange ideas. I respect them all so much, but they probably only say these things because somebody asked them,” Klopp revealed. “Bale is a Real Madrid player and if he leaves it will be outstandingly expensive and big wages. He is an outstanding player, I like him a lot but it is not about him.

You have to create a team. A team is not a collection of the best individual players, they have to work together. Liverpool is a long-term project. The team is really good. Will there be difficult situations? Probably," he told Sky Sports. "There would be if we bring in a new player, or two or three. I didn’t say we won’t do anything, it is going to be a big window for sure but people don’t think about the people who are already in.”
