Manchester City are set to step up a chase for Napoli star Fabian Ruiz and are willing to battle Real Madrid and Barcelona for the Spaniard. The former Real Betis starlet has been amongst the Serie A’s best players over the last six months or so and that has seen him heavily linked with a move away.

Manchester City have upgraded their interest for Fabian Ruiz with the Guardian reporting that the Cityzens are keen on a move for the 23-year-old. The Spaniard has been amongst Napoli’s top players since his move from Real Betis in 2018 and has arguably been one of the best midfielders in the Serie A over the last six odd months. That form has continued into this season and that has seen Barcelona, Real Madrid, and even Manchester United consider a move for the 23-year-old.

But the Guardian has reported that Manchester City has upped their interest with David Silva set to leave the club at the end of the 2019/20 season. While Pep Guardiola has revealed that Phil Foden will get a chance to impress, the Guardian has reported that City considers bringing in someone like Ruiz a chance to move forward and maybe even help Foden’s development.

However, any transfer saga for Ruiz will eventually end up with his suitors paying somewhere close to €180 million with Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis revealing that the club will not budge on that figure. While Manchester City can afford that, their race for the Spanish midfielder will be complicated by their relationship with Napoli after Jorginho’s transfer saga.
