Reports | Juventus plotting move for Manchester City striker Gabriel Jesus

Manchester City in these recent years have been considered to be amongst the most formidable sides in Europe. Their development under Pep Guardiola has been beyond impressive with the Cityzens thriving in the Premier League ever since the Spaniard took over as manager. Their foray into the Champions League has been more or less the same but their european ban will cause problems going forward.

It has already seen their best players linked with a move away and Calciomercato have reported that Juventus are eyeing striker Gabriel Jesus to replace Gonzalo Higuain. The striker and boss Maurizio Sarri are deemed to have great relations since their time at Napoli but the Argentinian is 32-years old and has shown evident signs of ageing in front of goal and Sarri believes it’s best to safeguard the future.

Jesus has an impressive tally of 18 goals this season in all competitions despite the fact that he plays behind Sergio Aguero. The Brazillian striker has constantly wished to be picked above partner in crime Sergio Aguero but Guardiola has chosen to stick with experience on most occasions with Jesus confined to the bench on more than one occasion. 

Bianconeri’s chief football officer, Fabio Paratichi tried opening negotiations in January itself, but the Etihad side were disinterested in hearing any offers. With the Champions League ban looming it would now take some convincing to retain City’s world class assets.
