Patna Pirates coach, Ram Mehar Singh, has dedicated his side's dominant 41-30 victory against Jaipur Pink Panthers in the Inter-Zone Challenge Week in Patna to the home fans. Meanwhile, captain Pardeep Narwal set a new record as the player to score the most Super 10s in Pro Kabaddi history.

The Pardeep Narwal-led Patna Pirates were at their very best as they overcame tough opponents, in the form of Jaipur Pink Panthers in Match No. 33 of this year’s Pro Kabaddi League. The home team ousted their opponents by an impressive scoreline of 41-30 in the Inter-Zone Challenge Week at Patliputra Sports Complex in Patna.

And Pirates’ coach Ram Mehar Singh was quick to dedicate Friday night’s win to the loyal bunch of home supporters. Singh added that his team looked to be on the offensive right from the start which worked in their favor.

"It feels very nice since we don’t get the support we get here anywhere else. The crowd always wants us to win and it’s nice to get a win for them. They’ve been waiting two years to watch us play and this win is for them.

"The strategy today was to attack. We only had two available raiders in Pardeep Narwal and Manjeet. Even with just the two of them, they knew what to do and they got us the win," Singh said at the post-match conference.

Meanwhile, captain Pardeep Narwal etched his name in the record books as he became the PKL player with the most super 10s in the history of the tournament.

"I don’t take that much into consideration. These records are meant to be broken. My record may not last for long and may be broken in the next game itself. That said, I am proud to be the record holder for the most number of Super 10s scored. Additionally, the fact that it ensured a win is an even greater feeling," Narwal said.
