Tamil Thalaivas coach Edacherry Bhaskaran said that they knew Gujarat Fortunegiants is a brilliant side and it was going to be a tough match so they were prepared accordingly. Tamil Thalaivas registered their third win of the season by beating Gujarat 28-34 in the latter's first home game.

Last night’s match between Tamil Thalaivas and Gujarat Fortunegiants was a close one. By the end of the first half, Tamil Thalaivas had gained a five-point lead by inflicting an all-out on the Giants. When the second half started, Gujarat came back full power and step by step they worked towards inflicting an all-out and gaining the lead by a single point. It was Ajay Thakur's Super Raid which brought Tamil Thalaivas back in the game and that is why they ended up winning the match.

“As you can see, every team is playing well this season. No one can predict which team will stage a come back at any time. You never know when there will be a turning point in the match. Gujarat Fortunegiants is one of the best teams in the league currently. But our team is no less. We were expecting a neck-and-neck fight. We were mentally prepared to face any challenge today and that is what worked for us,” Tamil Thalaivas coach Edacherry Bhaskaran said in the post-match press conference.

Everyone on Tamil Thalaivas side contributed to the win. Ajay Thakur, whose performance in previous matches was not so impressionable, came back and guided his team to a win. Thakur scored nine crucial raid points also we saw Mohit Chilar coming back in form as well and the defender scored a High Five. Manjeet Chillar also scored four tackle points which contributed to the team's win.

“The only thing I told my players was that today is our day. All our players were at the top of their game today. It was very unlikely that we would lose the match from such a situation. We knew that this win was important for us. Ajay Thakur went and got us the points at the right time,” coach Bhaskaran concluded.
