Nuwan Pradeep ruled out of the bowling attack in the first innings due to hamstring injury

Things are not going well for the Sri Lankan cricket team. India sealed the first Test in their favour by 304 runs on day 4. During the chase of 550 runs, the home side were bundled out for 245 and India took a 1-0 lead in the series. Nuwan Pradeep’s performance was the only positive for the Sri Lankan team as the 30-year-old took six wickets.

Sri Lanka lost the services of all-rounder Asela Gunaratne in the Galle Test as he fractured his left thumb while attempting a catch. Left-arm spinner Rangana Herath hurt his left middle finger while fielding in the first Test and didn't bowl on Day 4. Herath, however, was declared fit to play the second Test. 

As reported by Cricbuzz, Pradeep is the latest casualty as he has been ruled out of the bowling attack in India’s first innings. On the first day of the second Test, Pradeep bowled just four deliveries with the second new ball. Then he was forced to leave the ground with pain in his left hamstring. He didn’t return to the field on the second day. 

According to the report, the pacer will go through a MRI scan in the evening and after the reports, his participation will be clear.

Sri Lanka has only one out-and-out seamer in the form of Pradeep and after his injury, they have to depend on part-time option, Dimuth Karunaratne, against India's riches in batting.
