IPL 2018 | Virat Kohli is a great guy and I love playing with him, says AB de Villiers
AB de Villiers, who has failed to recreate the magic with RCB this season, has praised skipper Virat Kohli calling him as a great guy and stating that he loves playing with him. De Villiers seemed satisfied with the way he is batting and appreciated Rashid Khan after he dismissed him last match.
Bangalore lost their last match against Sunrisers Hyderabad, which has pretty much diminished all their hopes of qualifying into the playoffs. They just have won three matches in the 10 matches they have played so far and although Kohli and de Villiers have stood like a rock in the middle they, haven’t been supported well enough by others to convert the close games into wins.
Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers have been playing together for RCB for quite a many seasons now and understand each other well. Appreciating Kohli as a person and a great skipper, de Villiers has stated that they both share a very good bond off the field as well.
"Fantastic. He's (Virat) a great guy and I love playing with him. He's become a great captain and an even better friend. So it's been great. He's always been an inspirational character and we have a few leaders in the team that carry the guys in the tough time. We just want to look ahead and try to get better," said AB de Villiers during an event of Mont Blanc pens.
De Villiers has scored 286 runs in 8 matches so far, which hasn’t been enough to put RCB in a decent position on the table, but he seemed satisfied with his form. He also praised SRH’s Rashid Khan, who completely bamboozled him in the last match against SRH.
"No I am batting very well. I am very, very happy. Rashid got me out previously. We haven't played a lot against each other but he bowled well and he's a very good bowler. I have a lot of respect for him," added De Villiers.
The former South African skipper admitted that RCB has not been quite good this season, but remained hopeful of winning the last few matches left.
"No we haven't played well. It's been very disappointing but four games are left and I would love to not live in the past much and focus on what's coming that is Delhi (against Delhi Daredevils), so we need to win that game and hopefully have a bit of our run by the end of the season," De Villiers signed off.
RCB will play their next match against Delhi Daredevils at Feroz Shah Kotla on Saturday.
