Virat Kohli, Jasprit Bumrah retain top spots in latest ODI rankings update

Virat Kohli (884 pts) and Rohit Sharma (842 pts) have retained the top two spots amongst the batsman in the recent update of the ICC ODI rankings list. Death-over specialist - Jasprit Bumrah (797 pts) held onto the top spot while wrist spinner, Kuldeep Yadav, was ranked third on the list.

Despite missing the recently concluded Asia Cup in the UAE, Indian skipper - Virat Kohli comfortably managed to retain the top spot in the recent ICC ODI rankings update for batsmen. Kohli topped the list with 884 points while Indian opener, Rohit Sharma, who led the Men in Blue at the Asian showpiece was second on the list with 842 points. Sharma scored an impressive 317 runs in the Asia Cup campaign which also included a century against Pakistan. Shikhar Dhawan was the other Indian batsman in the top 10 at number five while the left-handed opener was ranked ahead of Pakistan’s Babar Azam after he recorded two centuries in Dubai.

Amongst the bowlers, Jasprit Bumrah held onto the top spot ahead of Afghanistan’s Rashid Khan with 797 points while Kuldeep Yadav was at third place after another impressive display in the Asian competition. Yuzvendra Chahal missed out on entering the top 10 as he was ranked at number 11 behind Afghanistan spinner - Mujeeb Zadran.

In the all-rounders section, Rashid Khan claimed top spot with a total of 353 points. No Indian player was in the top 10 ranking with Hardik Pandya the right at number 14 with 232 points. Kedar Jadhav, however, held onto 16th spot after he made his return in the Asia Cup triumph.

In the team rankings, India (122 pts) are still behind England (127 pts) but that can change depending on the outcome of the Sri Lanka-England series.
