After the win against Kolkata Knight Riders at the Eden Gardens, Delhi Capitals skipper Shreyas Iyer has revealed that it was tough for the team management to decide the team for the game. Iyer also heaped praise on Shikhar Dhawan’s batting saying that the opener showed his experience and class.

Delhi Capitals had gone with Keemo Paul ahead of leggie Sandeep Lamichhane in yesterday’s game against KKR. Paul also managed to pick up the important wicket of a well-set Shubman Gill in the 15th over that restricted the home team to score runs at a quicker rate during the last few overs of the innings. Although Andre Russell’s blistering knock helped Knight Riders score 178 in 20 overs.

After winning the match by seven wickets with seven deliveries to spare, Iyer expressed his happiness after back-to-back wins and said that it was an amazing feeling.

“It is an amazing feeling. Before the game, I was recollecting the last win. It is a good victory. Back-to-back wins feel nice. It was really tough for us to decide the team. Out of the 12 we had, we had one change. I think it was a good move to get in Keemo Paul,” Iyer said after the match, reported Cricbuzz.

Chasing 179 to win, Dhawan batting exceedingly well at the top of the batting order to take his team past the finishing line. The left-handed opener remained unbeaten for 97 with Rishabh Pant being the second highest scorer in the game for the Capitals with 46 runs to his name. Iyer said after the match the Delhi batsmen love to bat on such wickets.

“We love to bat on such tracks. We love batting on variable tracks. The way Dhawan batted, he showed his experience and class. Was well appreciated the way he played. Amazing to watch him. Today he came out and delivered the goods. He is an amazing personality and is good to have him around the team,” the DC skipper explained.
