Ambati Rayudu was not picked in India's 15-man squad and was even ignored when Shikhar Dhawan and Vijay Shankar got injured as Rishabh Pant and Mayank Agarwal were sent to England as replacements for injured players. Twitterati reacted on the same and expressed their displeasure.

Indian batsman Ambati Rayudu, on Wednesday, has announced his retirement from International cricket. Rayudu was not picked in the 15-man squad from the World Cup and all-rounder Vijay Shankar was preferred over him. However, Dhawan and Shankar's injury left the doors open for the selectors to pick Rayudu but the selectors decided to send Rishabh Pant as a replacement for Dhawan and Mayank Agarwal for Shankar. This could've been the reason behind Rayudu's decision to retire, however, he himself hasn't revealed any reason yet.
