Rajasthan Royals has released as many as 11 players, including Jaydev Unadkat, while they traded their skipper Ajinkya Rahane to Delhi Capitals. The list of released RR players includes some big names like Ashton Turner, Oshane Thomas, Ish Sodhi and Rahul Tripathi among many more.

Rajasthan Royals, who just crept over the lines to reach the playoffs of the Indian Premier League (IPL) last season, has taken some drastic measures ahead of the next season. The franchise released eleven of its players in the release window which included some big names like Rahul Tripathy and Ish Sodhi.

The team which traded it's captain from previous season Ajinkya Rahane to Delhi capitals while they let go of Stuart Bunny who had been with the franchise from the beginning. The all-rounder had been a bad investment for the franchise as he never went past the 6 wickets mark in a season while with the bat his best performance in a season was 293 runs. The franchise also corrected a grave mistake which they have been committing since two seasons by releasing Jaydev Unadkat, who failed to replicate his heroics of IPL 2017. But one can never say if they will buy him back at the auction as they did last year.

The release of Rahul Tripathy and Ish Sodhi came as a huge surprise as they were impressive in the previous season. The list of released players included some big names as in Ashton Turner who was an utter disappointment in his debut season, Oshame Thomas and Liam Livingstone.

The release of such big names is a clear indication of a drastic change in the team's strategy as well as its composition.

Rajasthan Royals' list of released players: Aryaman Birla, Ashton Turner, Ish Sodhi, Jaydev Unadkat, Liam Livingstone, Oshane Thomas, Prashant Chopra, Rahul Tripathi, Shubham Ranjane, Stuart Binny, Sudhesan Midhun
