Umesh Yadav’s fascination to hit sixes with pure muscle power found a different cult status when he thrashed South Africa all over for the fastest thirty in Tests. Today, however, he brought pure skill to play while hitting Abu Jayed for six on the flick that brought life to the dressing room.

In the third Test between India and South Africa, Umesh Yadav brought the house down with a kind of six-hitting exhibition that many could only dream of. In his 10-ball stay, he hit five sixes and became the darling of the masses. Today, Indian team management, in the hope of a similar feat, promoted him up the order, and boy, how good was he in sending the ball over the ropes. His shot-making left his teammates in the dressing room partly in splits and partly with their jaws on the floor. But nothing made them go “Wow” than the first six that he hit to open his account. With Abu Jayed giving the ball on his pads, he whipped it off the pads that landed over the ropes behind square. The entire dressing room was amused and the likes of Ravi Shastri and Ajinkya Rahane went wow over the stroke, and especially how beautifully Yadav exhibited in that shot. Surely he won many fans with that.
