James Anderson believes that England batters should play attacking cricket on the third day of the one-off Test against India as they are reduced to 84/5 currently. Anderson also stated that their batters are naturally aggressive and so they should try to put pressure back on the opposition.

England dominated their recent Test series at home against New Zealand and registered a clean sweep. However, the hosts have found themselves in a different situation against India in the ongoing one-off Test. India posted a decnet total of 416 in the first innings and England are reduced to 84/5 with three more days to go. Ben Stokes and Jonny Bairstow are batting at the crease and England will hope that these two will steady the innings.

James Anderson has shared his views on the Test match and has suggested that England should stick to their aggressive approach as the batters have a natural attacking game.

“The way we’ve got out of sticky situations is trying to put pressure back on the opposition. I’ve got a fair feeling our best line of defense tomorrow will be attack. Our batters are naturally aggressive.” Anderson said to reporters after the end of the day’s play.

“We’ve got to try to work our way back in and put some pressure back on them. We’re up against it, but we’ve been in this position before this summer.”

India are already leading the series 2-1 and either a win or draw will be enough for them to pull of the historic win in England.
