In a tense cricket match, moments of levity can occasionally inject some fun into the atmosphere on the field. This occurred during the match between Gujarat Titans and Punjab Kings when Gujarat's spin maestro Rashid Khan delivered the ball before the on-field umpire's signal to bowl.

Attempting to chase down Gujarat Titans' imposing target of 200 runs, Punjab's batting struggled right from the start. The opening pair of Jonny Bairstow and Shikhar Dhawan failed to provide a solid foundation, with the latter departing early in just the second over. Despite this setback, Bairstow and Prabhsimran managed to stabilize the innings somewhat, adding 35 runs to take the score to 48/1 after five overs. However, Punjab faced a setback in the middle overs as they lost Sam Curran, Sikandar Raza, and Jitesh Sharma in quick succession.

Despite the tension in the Punjab camp during their chase, a lighthearted moment occurred after Jitesh's dismissal in the 16th over. Rashid Khan bowled a full toss, which Jitesh mistimed, sending the ball soaring towards deep mid-wicket where Darshan Nalkande took an easy catch. As the on-field umpire Vineet Kulkarni signaled for a strategic timeout, the crowd eagerly awaited the arrival of a new Punjab batsman.

Following the timeout, Punjab's impact substitute, Ashutosh Sharma, entered the crease, but umpire Nitin Menon had yet to signal the impact substitution. Unaware of the situation, Rashid prepared to bowl the fourth delivery and released the ball towards the batter. Nitin Menon, visibly amused by the confusion, informed Rashid that he hadn't signaled him to bowl yet, prompting a light-hearted exchange between them and finally adjudging it as a dead ball.

The incident quickly garnered attention on social media, with the Twitterverse buzzing about the amusing moment on the field.
