Intense rivalries often bring out the best in individuals and are never short of eventful incidents. Khaleel Ahmed was animated right from the start of the competition between Chennai Super Kings and Royal Challengers Bengaluru on Friday after chirping at the face of Phil Salt early.

Eyeing to end their losing drought at the Chepauk, the toss went waywire for RCB as the Rajat Patidar-led army, who wished to field first, was sent to bat in the middle. Like their previous match, Phil Salt and Virat Kohli walked out with the bat to score a formidable total, with fans rooting for their respective sides. As things turned out, the contest spiced up early on the first ball, with Khaleel and Salt indulging in a chirping contest.

Khaleel Ahmed kicked off the over for the high-octane clash for the Chennai side, operating from over the wicket. He bowled on a length outside the stumps, with a tad swing away from the right-hander who gave a slash at it. However, Salt was beaten on the outside edge, resulting in a dot. Soon after, Khaleel went up to the batter and said a few words at his face. Although Salt didn’t flinch, the left-arm seamer seemed to have a wry smile before focusing on reloading the next delivery. The fact that the big match spiced up right from the match’s first ball, the Twitterverse had every reason to be abuzz.
