RCB has one of the most unique fanbases all over the world. Even though the team plays for two months in the entire year, its players get RCB chants wherever they go. This even happened with Jacob Bethell, when he played against India in the T20 World Cup semi-final.

Jacob Bethell steps in to IPL 2026 as one of the key players for the Royal Challengers Bengaluru. Last season the team used him as a backup opener in the absence of Phil Salt. But with his performances in the T20 World Cup 2026, he proved that he is not just a backup player for any team.

Ever since he was bought by the RCB in the IPL mega auction, he has been hearing the team's chants wherever he went. Recently, Jacob Bethell recalled the T20 World Cup semi-final match against India, and how he received support from the RCB fans. During the chase, Bethell was the star of England, scoring 105 runs off 48 balls.

The crowd at Wankhede Stadium was silent, but he could still hear the RCB RCB chants. In an interview, he said, “I heard a few RCB chants at the Wankhede Stadium during the T20 World Cup semi-finals.”

Our Take

The incident shared by Jacob Bethell shows that wherever you go, the support of your team follows you. And this is the reason why RCB fans are known as the best fans worldwide. Bethell won't be forgetting this incident for a long time, as the fans appreciated for his brilliant knock.

Now he is preparing himself for the IPL 2026 season, as he plays for RCB. It is certain that RCB won't be looking to him as a back-up opener this time. But it still remains to be seen in whose place Bethell would make it to the line-up.
