Real Madrid is nearing an agreement with Donny Van De Beek from Ajax for €60 million. Los Merengues manager, Zinedine Zidane, had Paul Pogba as a top priority but negotiations fell short, with Manchester United demanding a price that the La Liga giants couldn't possible match this summer.

After struggling to struck a deal for Manchester United superstar Paul Pogba, Real Madrid has turned their attention to Ajax's wonderkid Van De Beek, according to the Daily Mail. It is believed that a deal will be completed in the next few hours for the 22-year-old, with Spanish giants offering €55 million immediately plus €5 million in future add-ons.

The Dutch international had a superb 2018/19 season, leading de Godenzonen to an Eredivisie and KNVB title, alongside an incredible Champions League semi-final appearance. That combined with his performances for Netherlands, has seen a number of clubs enquire for his services. But Real Madrid may just have the upper hand and a deal may very well happen between both clubs.

The current Eredivisie title holders have already sold Frenkie De Jong and Matthijs de Ligt, and now face the possibility of losing their next best player. If the deal doesn't go through, Real Madrid could turn their focus to Sporting's Bruno Fernandes, as they have been linked with the midfielder lately.
