Reports | Inter Milan to offload Icardi and go after Sergej Milinkovic-Savic

With Mauro Icardi falling out of favour at Inter Milan, the Nerazzurri are set to offload the Argentine and use his money to improve the team even further. Their top target to help them do that this summer is Sergej Milinkovic-Savic with the Lazio midfielder also linked to Manchester United.

The rumours linking Mauro Icardi with a move out of San Siro has dominated the summer transfer window. However, it seems that Icardi has made up his mind in that he will not leave the Nerazzurri. This has made matters worse for new manager Antonio Conte, as the club have recently signed Romelu Lukaku.

To make things even worse, they’ve given the Belgian international Icardi’s jersey number as well, which confirms their stance on the Argentine. Meanwhile, reports from Italy state that Lazio's midfield maestro Sergej Milinkovic-Savic has been in talks with Manchester United, Juventus and PSG, so far.

The clubs have held discussions, but nobody has managed to make any progress when and that has stalled any deal. Inter Milan have now re-joined the race, with the club linked with a move last summer. That might change now as Gazzetta dello Sport reports that Inter are willing to sign him if they are able to offload Mauro Icardi.

Lazio value the midfielder close to £100 million and Inter will have struggle to meet FFP rules, if they aren’t able to offload Icardi this summer. The Nerazzurri have already given the Argentine an ultimatum, one that sees him not playing again for the club for the rest of his contract.
