Champions of Europe Liverpool will kick off the 2019/20 Premier League season today, with the first game at Anfield. Ahead of the game, Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has said that he wants his team to stay 'angry and greedy' as they look to prepare for another Premier League title challenge.

Liverpool won the UEFA Champions League last season but was still unable to get their hands on the elusive Premier League title. The Merseyside club has never won the Premier League and have gone 29 years (30 at the end of this season) without winning a league title. Last season was the closest they'd ever come and now ending that drought and defending their Champions League crown seems to be the club’s primary goal this campaign.

The Reds begin their season tonight at Anfield, against Norwich City and Jurgen Klopp had a lot to say. "What's very important is that as the team that won the Champions League last year, we have to stay the team nobody wants to play against. Not because of the name or the quality but the intensity. We have to be angry again, we have to be greedy again, we have to be all these things. That's what I will ask the boys for and that's what we have to show [against Norwich]."

Forward Sadio Mane is available even though he began his pre-season late after the African Cup of Nations. Veteran midfielder James Milner is also available after recovering from a muscle strain. Norwich City, on the other hand, will be missing central defenders Timm Klose and Christoph Zimmermann and midfielders Alex Tettey and Louis Thompson.  New signings Josip Drmic and Patrick Roberts could also make their debuts for the Canaries today
