Reports | Real Madrid now favourites to land Neymar’s signature

With Barcelona unable to get a deal done for Neymar, Real Madrid have taken the advantage and moved ahead in the race for the Brazilian superstar. The Los Blancos have been after the superstar for a long long time, but have never been able to get a move done. That has changed now.

Real Madrid may have spent a boatload of money on players this summer, including a move for Eden Hazard but Los Blancos are not done. They’ve been heavily linked with a move for Manchester United man Paul Pogba and now it seems that they have the upper hand when it comes to a deal for Neymar.

Zinedine Zidane and his men have been intensely linked with a move for the Brazilian over the last year and a half, but they’ve never done anything on that interest. That may change as Le Parisien reports that Portuguese super-agent Jorge Mendes is in touch with the PSG star and has urged him to consider the Los Blancos.

It further adds that PSG are willing to offer Neymar to Real Madrid at a price much lower than what they set for Barcelona. This does change things for Barcelona, who have been the only side to show any genuine interest in the 28-year-old. Earlier reports indicated that Juventus and Manchester United were both interested, but any fee would be too much for them to handle.

The Catalan giants have also submitted two failed bids, which has seen vice-president Jordi Cardoner eventually ruling out a move for Neymar.
