With the burden on Paul Pogba and Jesse Lingard getting far too much to handle, Manchester United are considering an £81 million move for Bundesliga star Kai Havertz. The 20-year-old is amongst the best prospects in the world and has been linked with a move to Barcelona, Liverpool and Bayern Munich.

After finishing the 2018/19 season with 17 goals in the Bundesliga alone, becoming the first teenager to hit that total in Germany, Kai Havertz’s name hit the airwaves. Since then, the German starlet has been pushed into a deeper role which has stifled his goal-scoring but it has seen the 20-year-old create a lot more chances for his teammates. That combined with his work ethic and potential to grow even more has seen him linked with a move away.

Barcelona, Liverpool, Arsenal, Bayern Munich and Juventus have all shown a keen interest in a move but German news outlet the Bild has reported that Manchester United are the top candidates. The Red Devils are looking to add another attacking midfielder to their ranks with them heavily linked with a move for Bruno Fernandes over the summer. While no move materialized, the Red Devils have been persistently linked with a move for an attacking midfielder in the months since.

The likes of James Maddison, Christian Eriksen and Fernandes have all but touted for a move but the Daily Mail has further reported that Havertz tops that list. The German starlet’s performances this season, his potential for growth and his age makes him the perfect candidate for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s revolution despite the fact that he would cost upwards of £80 million. That hasn't deterred the Red Devils in the past and Bild has revealed that it won't stop them here.
