Out of favour Chelsea star Olivier Giroud has been heavily linked with a move away and Borussia Dortmund are believed to be interested in signing the French striker. The 32-year-old has struggled to break into Frank Lampard’s youthful Blues team and is considering his future away from London.

ESPN and German news outlet Kicker have reported that Borussia Dortmund are considering a move for Olivier Giroud, with the striker struggling to get a look in at Chelsea. Despite arriving in the 2018 winter window, in a three-way deal between Arsenal, Borussia Dortmund and Chelsea, Giroud has only made 69 appearances for the Blues and a large portion of that has come in the Europa League.

However, this season with Chelsea playing Champions League football and at the same time trying to get a top-four berth, Giroud’s numbers have drastically reduced. That has seen the French striker reportedly be open to leaving the Blues and Borussia Dortmund are the latest side in the race for the 2018 World Cup winner. Crystal Palace, Inter Milan, West Ham and Everton have all been linked with a move but nothing has materialized.

Reports have even indicated that the Blues have set an asking price of around £5 million for Olivier Giroud and that has peaked Dortmund’s interest. The Bundesliga giants are looking for someone to pair Paco Alcacer and play off the bench, something Giroud has excelled at. They were linked with a move in the January 2018 window but the Frenchman opted to sign for Chelsea instead.
