After the huge defeat against Bengaluru Bulls at home last evening, Haryana Steelers coach Rakesh Kumar has said that his team need to regroup and analyse their performance. The Haryana coach also said that one bad game is not an alarming cause of concern for him and the Haryana side.

Haryana had a very bad day on the mat last evening against the defending champions and they lost the game by a huge margin of 36-59. The defence had such a game that they allowed Pawan Sehrawat ran away with a record-breaking performance of 39 points. Rakesh explained about their defensive lapses after the game last evening.

“Too many advanced tackles. Giving away so many points to one player is concerning. We need to regroup and assess this performance,” Rakesh was quoted as saying by the PKL website.

“The same as it has always been. We know we are a good defensive side. This one-off performance doesn’t decide our future this season. We have performed well in 19, so one bad game is not an alarming cause for concern. We just need to get the fundamentals right again. The rest will follow.”

The only star for the Steelers was Prashanth Rai as he managed to score 17 points in the raiding department in a game where Vikash Kandola didn’t have a great time. Rakesh Kumar has mentioned that he is happy with the way Rai is back in the form right before the start of the playoffs.

“He was tackled just once in the entire match. That’s how well he played today. We had higher expectations from our defence, but their performance was a let-down. It’s a good sign that Prashanth is hitting form right on the brink of the playoffs,” added the Haryana chief coach.
