The BCCI have announced the team for the two-Test championship match against West Indies and decided to drop Bhuvneshwar Kumar from the team for the Test series. On the other hand, Wriddhiman Saha has made a comeback to the Test side after being sidelined from the team with an injury.

Ajinkya Rahane's regular underperformance for a while now hasn't really threatened his spot in the Indian Test side as he continues to be assigned the role of Virat Kohli's deputy in the longest format of the game. However, his position might be a cause of concern for the Indian skipper as Rohit Sharma's superb ODI run may make him choose Sharma over Rahane.

Wriddhiman Saha, who almost missed out the entirety of 2018 with injury, may not get his spot back as the Indian team see Rishabh Pant as a better fit for the position. However, Saha's comeback means the team has sacrificed an all-rounder position to bring him back to the fold. Hardik Pandya made way eventually.

Ishant Sharma, Mohammed Shami, Jasprit Bumrah and Umesh Yadav will manage the pace-bowling attack as Ravichandran Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja, and Kuldeep Yadav will be the three specialist spinners in the side.

Test squad: Virat Kohli (Captain), Ajinkya Rahane (VC), Mayank Agarwal, KL Rahul, C Pujara, Hanuma Vihari, Rohit Sharma, Rishabh Pant (WK) Wriddhiman Saha (WK), R Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja, Kuldeep Yadav, Ishant Sharma, Mohammed Shami, Jasprit Bumrah, Umesh Yadav. #INDvWI
