Rajeev Shukla has tweeted that it was decided in a meeting, which was even attended by MS Dhoni and Virat Kohli, that Mankading will not be done in the IPL. This particular way of getting a batsman out has grabbed the spotlight after Jos Buttler was dismissed by Ravichandran Ashwin yesterday.

Kings XI Punjab skipper Ashwin sparked off a huge debate now after he dislodged the bails at the non-striker's end, during his delivery stride in the 13th over of Rajasthan Royals' innings which dismissed set batsman Jos Buttler. This changed the course of the match and the Mike Hesson-coached side went on to win by 14 runs.

Mankading is well within the laws of the game, in spite of that, most of the experts believe that it is ungentlemanly and have targeted Ashwin for the same.

After various cricketers and analysts laid out their opinions, IPL Chairman Rajeev Shukla has also joined the discussion through a bizarre tweet, in which he claimed that MS Dhoni and Virat Kohli had spoken against Mankading as a ‘courtesy’, in a meeting in Kolkata.

“If I remember in one of the meetings of captains & match referee where I was also present as chairman it had been decided that if non striking batsman steps out bowler as a courtesy will not run him out @IPL @BCCI,” tweeted Shukla.

“Most probably this meeting was in Kolkata on the eve of one of the editions of ipl where Dhoni & Virat both were present @BCCI @IPL,” the 59-year-old added.
