Gujarat Titans started their innings with caution, as Josh Hazlewood and Bhuvneshwar Kumar were able to generate movement with the new ball. Hazlewood was able to take the wicket of Sai Sudharsan early, as Shubman Gill and Jos Buttler rebuilt the innings well to take the team to 56/1 in the powerplay.
Buttler was able to dominate the spinners well in this 71-run stand, as Suyash Sharma trapped him in lbw when he was at 48. Gill continued to anchor the innings well, along with Washington Sundar who gave a late cameo.
