Inter Milan president Steven Zhang has revealed that there is no way back for Inter star Mauro Icardi, as with the club looking to sell the striker. The 26 year old was stripped of the club captaincy and has been insistently linked with a move away, with Inter Milan trying to bring in Romelu Lukaku.

Inter Milan president Steven Zhang has revealed that former Inter Milan captain Mauro Icardi has no way back into the team. The 26-year-old has been knocked out of the squad and has also been explicitly told that there is no place for him in new manager Antonio Conte’s new squad. Conte has reiterated that in a recent interview, even adding Radja Naingolan to that list.

Reports have even added that the Argentine was offered as a potential swap option for Manchester United, with the Red Devils rejecting that deal. Icardi himself has also turned down offers from Napoli with the Daily Mail adding that the hitman believes he can find a way back into the club’s good graces. Juventus are also in the race for a €90 million move, with reports from Italy also adding that Boca Juniors might consider a stunning swoop.

That chance has been knocked down by Zhang, with him going on to say “Icardi is a great player, a good person and he helped the club with many goals in the past. We're sure we'll find a good solution for him.” When asked if Inter's lack of options could change Icardi’s situation, Zhang replied: “No”
