Juventus have overtaken Inter Milan in the race to sign Manchester United star Romelu Lukaku, with the Nerazzurri still struggling to breakthrough. The Turin giants are looking for a new striker and with the Belgian star looking to play football in Italy, Juventus are set to battle Inter.

Romelu Lukaku may have spent most of this summer heavily linked with a move to Inter Milan, but that may be finally over. Sky Sports has reported that with the Nerazzurri still working on the deal for the Belgian striker, Juventus have become the new favourites to win the race.

The Old Lady are looking for new strikers and with them opening to selling Paulo Dybala, the club believes that Lukaku can be an ideal replacement. Furthermore, Sky Sports has reported that Inter Milan director Beppe Marotta has revealed that the Nerazzurri have made an offer of around £54 million, but that bid was rejected by the Red Devils.

The Old Trafford side considers the Belgian striker to be one of the best forwards in Europe and are thus commanding a fee of around £80 million. That’s the fee that Manchester United paid Everton a few years ago, but with Juventus willing to add Dybala as a part of the deal, it has complicated any approach that Inter Milan will potentially make in the near future.

The Argentine has seen himself hit the transfer market recently, with both Tottenham and Manchester United linked with a move. Spurs have already reportedly submitted a bid of around £44 million for Dybala but that was immediately rejected. Manchester United, on the other hand, have yet to officially submit a transfer offer.
