Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane has been left hugely unconvinced his offensive line and is looking towards Borussia Dortmund's Erling Haaland to change that. The German giants got their hands on a bargain when they signed the Norwegian from Salzburg, with him changing the course of their season.

Real Madrid have locked horns with eternal rivals Barcelona, the two separated by just a point at the top of La Liga table. The Los Blancos have slipped up on more than one occasion this season with them falling short of quality in front of the goal and depending heavily on Karim Benzema. That has seen Zinedine Zidane hell bent on resolving the issue in the next transfer window with the club looking at a move for Norwegian wonderkid, Erling Haaland.

Mundo Deportivo has reported that the Madrid giants are interested in a move for the striker who left Salzburg for Dortmund in the winter. German side Borussia Dortmund are considered very fortunate to have acquired the hitman’s services at Signal Iduna Park for a mere sum of £18million. But Haaland has hit the ground running with 9 goals in his eight German top-flight appearances. The Dortmund striker also became the first player in Europe to score 40 goals this season.

Haaland’s primary suitors also included Manchester United, but boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and striker’s agent Mino Riola have a difficult relationship. Riola is also Paul Pogba’s agent, and the two (Ole and Riola) don't have the best relationship concerning the French midfielder’s fate. The Spanish giants have sustained their interest in Pogba, but reports claim they would have to prioritize, come the summer.

Last summer, Los Blancos had raided Eintracht Frankfurt of their star striker Luka Jovic for about £54million. Unfortunately, the Serbian striker hasn’t been able to do justice to the hype around him, with Zidane solely playing Benezma in a single striker formation. Initial plans were to loan Jovic, but Zizou could well decide to sell him, to make space and cash both for the former Salzburg man.
