Only maximum of ten clubs in the world can afford to buy Erling Haaland, proclaims Mino Raiola
Mino Raiola believes that there are only ten clubs in the world who could afford to buy Erling Haaland especially in light of the way the forward has grown over the last year. The 20-year-old has flourished since he signed for Borussia Dortmund with 43 goals in 43 appearances for the club.
Ever since he signed for Borussia Dortmund, Erling Haaland’s stock in the footballing world has only continued to rise with the 20-year-old thriving in Germany. It has seen Haaland linked with some of Europe’s biggest sides especially given the fact that the Norwegian has netted 43 goals in as many appearances for the Bundesliga giants across all competitions. That tally includes 10 goals in seven Champions League appearances with him on point to break more than a few records.
But despite his insistence that he will not be leaving Borussia Dortmund until the time is right, Haaland has seen himself linked to Barcelona and Real Madrid recently. That has seen his agent, Mino Raiola, admit that in his eyes, there are only “a maximum of 10 clubs can afford to buy Haaland” with “four of those” in England. The super-agent further added that the Norwegian is “one of those potential new future stars” and could thrive anywhere.
"It is obvious that everybody is looking at Erling as one of those potential new future stars because it's so difficult to do what he does at his age at his level. He will be one of the future stars of the next decade because we see that stars such as Ibrahimovic, Ronaldo and Messi are coming to an age where everyone asks themselves: 'How long can we still enjoy them?' So everyone is looking for the new generation," Haaland told the BBC.
"Only a maximum of 10 clubs can afford to buy Haaland and give the platform you would like after you've been in Dortmund, and four of those clubs are in England. I don't think there's a sports director or trainer in the world who would say 'not interested'. It's like saying: 'Is there a Formula 1 team who would not be interested in having Lewis Hamilton?'"
