Reports suggest that Indian team captain Virat Kohli is not happy with the behaviour of coach Anil Kumble. According to TOI, BCCI’s advisory panel of Sachin Tendulkar, Sourav Ganguly, and VVS Laxman have been given the responsibility of resolving this rift before the Champions Trophy.

For last few days things seem to be heading south for the Indian team behind the scenes with TOI reporting that a source in the Indian camp has confirmed that Kohli is not happy with the behaviour of the coach. The Champions Trophy is scheduled to start on June 1 and India take on arch- rivals Pakistan in their first game on June 4. Before the match, an Indian committee will start their process to resolve the issue.

According to Times of India, BCCI’s advisory panel which includes big three names of Indian Cricket - Sachin Tendulkar, Sourav Ganguly and VVS Laxman will try to resolve this issue and will meet with Committee of Administrators soon. According to the sources, the Indian cricket team is not happy with the style of the coach and players were more comfortable with Ravi Shastri. Sources say Kohli and Kumble had a difference of opinion over several issues related to the playing XI during the India-Australia test series.

In the last Test in Dharamshala, which India won, Kumble had strongly backed the inclusion of chinaman bowler Kuldeep Yadav in place of the injured Kohli. Sources say Kohli was unaware it and was caught by surprise. Kumble’s contract will end (June 23) after the Champions Trophy and the board has already started the process to find a new coach rather than give Kumble a contract extension.

A source in the know said, "With the CoA not involved in the day-to-day working of the team, the responsibility of naming the new head coach is entrusted to the three-member panel. Neither the CoA not the board officials will be part of this process".

BCCI has asked Virender Sehwag to apply for this reputed post but he refused and now the BCCI wants Rahul Dravid handle this responsibility.
