Twitter reacts to Shahbaz Nadeem taking reflex catch after ball bounces off Anrich Nortje

It was a rather fitting end to the series as India blew South Africa to smithereens, dismissing the last two batsmen off 12 deliveries. However, it was ironic or funny - it depends on the side of the schism you stand - that the game ended with Ngidi giving a catch which lobbed off Nortje’s shoulder.

It was a complete annihilation by the Indian cricket team, as at no point, South Africa looked to threaten the Indian team’s unstoppable juggernaut. That, alongside, the performance by the bowlers made it a series to remember for the cricket fans in the country. As if they wanted a significant reel to keep the moment etched in the memory, the second wicket by Nadeem in the second innings was it.After dismissing Theunis de Bruyn on the penultimate ball of the 48th over, Nadeem landed a ball rather short to Lungi Ngidi. Never known for his batting, Ngidi did what many tail-enders would do - he hit it through the air but the lack of power in it resulted in the ball going towards the non-striker's end. Seeing the ball coming his way, Nortje tried to fend it away, but it hit his wrist to change the course of its trajectory. Nadeem collected it on his followthrough, bringing an ironic end to the Africans’ horrible sojourn in India.

Complete drama here!!tongue-out
