As U Mumba made their way to a narrow 40-39 win against Patna Pirates at the Patliputra Indoor Stadium in Patna and skipper Fazel Atrachali says winning is the only thing that mattered. Meanwhile, Pirates’ coach Ram Mehar Singh rued bad defending for Saturday night’s loss on home turf.

Fazel Atrachali has established himself as one the fan favorite in this year’s edition of the Pro Kabaddi League. A good run of form has seen the Mumbai-based franchise cement their spot at number two in the A Zone standings and the recent 40-39 win against Patna Pirates has only helped their cause.

Atrachali & Co. made their way to a narrow win against the home team at the at the Patliputra Indoor Stadium in Patna on Saturday. The Iranian claimed that despite the scoreline, at the end of the day all that matters is the winning the game.

"I loved the match today. We played really well and we won and that is all that matters. We will think about it tomorrow. We were only focused on Patna Pirates before this game and were not thinking about Puneri Paltan. We are all professionals. We need to change a few things in our defence. It is a different game against Puneri Paltan and we will try to do well," Atrachali said at a post-match conference.

Meanwhile, losing coach Ram Mehar Singh blamed his side’s below-par defending for the loss against U Mumba.

"The defence could have done better. We gave away a bonus to Siddharth Desai or else we were in the game. We needed to tackle him before he got the bonus. Pardeep Narwal kept the points coming and we even caught Siddharth Desai in the last five minutes. It was a thriller. We will tighten our defense," Singh said.
