Windies - so close, yet so far. You must have been very busy watching all the mainstream things that happened today. But meanwhile, we were keeping an eye on incidents that most of you might have missed. So here are the 9 incidents from today's match that you might have totally missed.

Protecting stumps!

Dimuth Karunaratne blocked a yorker fired at him by Sheldon Cottrell. The ball took a bit of backspin and was rolling towards the stumps but Dimuth showed great awareness and shooed away the ball with the back of his bat in order to protect his stumps.

Not a nail-biting moment!

This is hilarious!! We have heard of nail-biting finishes but Jason Holder took it to a whole new level at the sidelines today.

Jason Holder nutmegs Shai Hope!

West Indies was awful with their fielding today! In the 19th over, Shai Hope couldn’t pick a perfect wide yorker from Jason Holder and the ball went right through his legs.

This is how Avishka Fernando survived!

Another horrid display of fielding by Windies! It was an easy runout chance but West Indies messed it again and gave a chance to Avishka who went on to score a century.

This could’ve ended Gabriel's career!

Angelo Mathews played a pull shot towards mid-wicket off Shannon Gabriel’s short delivery. Oshane Thomas fumbled and conceded an extra run and to make things worse Jason Holder fired a needless direct hit at bowling end causing flying bails to hit Gabriel’s face.

Please don’t go!

Malinga’s doppelganger!

It’s not about the six pack, it’s about the skill and Lasith Malinga showed that in this World Cup.

Stars galore in Durham!

Carlos Braithwaite’s famous schoolmate Rihanna was in Durham to support Windies.

Braithwaite’s unlucky dismissal!

Nicholas Pooran nailed a straight drive right off the middle, Udana attempted a diving catch and gets a fingertip in the process, Brathwaite was at the non-strikers end and sadly, he wasn't even in the frame.
