India vs Bangladesh | Predicted XI for the 5th T20I in Nidahas Trophy
India started their tournament with a surprise loss to Sri Lanka but reclaimed that form to secure two consecutive wins. The Rohit Sharma-led team will try to continue that momentum to secure their third consecutive win in the tournament in today's match against Bangladesh.
Rohit Sharma: While the South Africa series was a major disappointment for the stand-in Indian skipper, the ongoing Nidahas Trophy has just exacerbated the disappointment. He has failed to give any stability to the team in the first three matches and will try to forget that in India's last league game of the tournament.
Shikhar Dhawan: Dhawan is the in-form batsman in the team and in light of Sharma's dismal run, a lot depends on his innings. Although he couldn't score much in the last match, his match-winning ability is not a secret and it will be a threat for the Bangla Tigers.
Suresh Raina: Raina, after a good South Africa tour, again failed to prove his worth and has gotten out playing cheap shots time and again. But the Indian team need him to score more runs to be able to post a good total on the board.
Manish Pandey: Many experts and fans highlighted Pandey's incosistency, but he is slowly proving that he has the goods to cement a place in the side, if not the No.4 position. He will be an important player in the team for today's match as well and he will want to hammer home his worth in the eyes of the decision-makers.
Dinesh Karthik: Karthik played an important inning in the last match along with Pandey and also offers wicket-keeping services as well. His leadership and experience counted for much in the last game, and the team will look to him to repeat his heroics.
KL Rahul: The Karnataka player got a chance in the last match, but failed to make any big contribution by scoring only 18 runs. He will want to contribute by way of a big innings, especially if the top order comes up short again, and will look to avoid comedic dismissals.
Vijay Shankar: Vijay Shankar won a man of the match award in the second match and also bowled economical overs in both matches. He didn't get a chance in the third match in the series and will try to contribute with the bat as well if he gets a chance.
Washington Sundar: The Tamil Nadu off-spinning all-rounder has been one of the highlights of the Indian squad so far. His economical overs in the powerplay and pressure situations came very handy in arresting Sri Lanka's fast start in the last match, and he can put in a good shift with the bat as well.
Shardul Thakur: The 26-year-old played the two games but he got his first wicket of the series in the second match against Bangladesh. His disastrous show in the first match was neatly put aside by his wicket-taking ability in the third, justly rewarded by the man of the match award against Sri Lanka. He will try to recreate the same performance today.
Yuzvendra Chahal: The leggie played all three matches of the Nidahas Trophy and has claimed four wickets so far. In the series, the Indian pacers are more effective and in the absence of Kuldeep Yadav, Chahal has extra responsibility. He is struggling to come to terms with the dewy conditions in the Emerald Isle but has the confidence to strike back at any moment.
Jaydev Unadkat: In his last appearance for the team, Unadkat failed to deliver a good performance for the side as his economy rate was high in comparison to the other Indian bowlers. He needs to rectify that to have a chance of making any inroads into the first team.
