Noor Ahmed Career

Noor Ahmad Lakanwal is an Afghan cricketer. In June 2022, he made his international cricket debut for the Afghanistan cricket team. On April 29, 2019, he played his maiden first-class game for Kabul Region in the 2019 Ahmad Shah Abdali 4-day Tournament. On October 8, 2019, he played his first Twenty20 match for Mis Ainak Knights in the 2019 Shpageeza Cricket League.

Rashid Khan, a legend in South Africa, AB de Villiers, and former India captain Virat Kohli are all admired by the youthful spinner. In the 2017 Alokozay Provincial Tournament, Ahmad played cricket for the Herat province's U-16 squad when he was 12 years old. In the next four-day Ahmad Shah Abdali tournament in 2019, he made his first-class debut for Kabul Region. In the Ghazi Amanullah Khan Regional One Day Tournament in October 2020, Ahmad played his first list-A game for the Mis Ainak Region.

He was included on Afghanistan's roster for the 2020 Under-19 Cricket World Cup in December 2019. He was included on the St. Lucia Zouks roster for the 2020 Caribbean Premier League in July of that year. On October 14, 2020, he participated in his first List A match for the Mis Ainak Region in the Ghazi Amanullah Khan Regional One-Day Tournament.

He was recruited by the Melbourne Renegades in December 2020 at the age of 15 to participate in the Australian Big Bash League season in 2020–21. Noor was added to the Chennai Super Kings team in March 2021 as a net bowler for the 2021 Indian Premier League. Noor participated in the Pakistan Super League in June 2021 for the Karachi Kings.

Noor was included in the Afghanistan One Day International (ODI) team for their series against Pakistan in July 2021. He was selected for Afghanistan's squad for the West Indies-hosted 2022 ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup in December 2021.

Following the players' draft for the Supplementary category of the 2022 Pakistan Super League, he was signed by the Quetta Gladiators later that month. He made his team debut on February 12, 2022, against Islamabad United at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore. He was purchased by the Gujarat Titans in the auction for the 2022 Indian Premier League competition in February 2022.

Ahmad was selected for both the Afghanistan One Day International (ODI) team and the Twenty20 International (T20I) squad in May 2022 for the trip against Zimbabwe. On June 14, 2022, he played for Afghanistan against Zimbabwe in his first T20I match. Ahmad played against Sri Lanka in his first ODI match on November 30, 2022.

IPL over the years

Ahmad may be certain that he can succeed at the highest level among the top because of the league's sink-or-swim climate, which is great for distinguishing the genuine from the imposters. Ahmad seems destined for success based on how Afghans have done in the Indian T20 League in the past.

Ahmad's young age will undoubtedly be tested in the harsh environment of the Indian T20 League, but Gujarat's confidence in signing a relatively unknown teenager suggests that they, along with a number of other franchises who were interested in him, are aware of his special talent and believe he will break through sooner rather than later.

Despite only having represented Afghanistan in two international games, Noor Ahmad is already a highly sought-after talent in T20 competitions all around the world. The IPL is one such tournament, and GT decided to keep the spinner until the IPL 2023 auction. However, Ahmad hasn't yet played for the Titans. Rashid Khan, the vice-captain, is incredibly healthy and seldom ever missed games due to injury, thus the 18-year-old is likely being considered as a backup. Rahul Tewatia and R Sai Kishore, two excellent Indian spinners, are also available for the reigning champions. For his IPL debut, Ahmad could have to wait a little longer.

Afghanistan's Noor Ahmad is the country's newest cricketer. He bats right-handed and bowls with his left arm. He gained the most notoriety in the Shpageeza Cricket League, where he excelled. He is putting a lot of effort towards becoming Afghanistan's top cricketer. In the Pakistan Super League, he plays for the Karachi Kings (Season 6).

Noor Ahmad began his professional life while he was quite young. He began participating in club cricket one-day games. He then made his debut for team Aptech against Gorbat in the 2015 AWCC T20 Trophy. Noor participated in his maiden Twenty20 match for the Mis Ainak Knights squad in the Shpageeza Cricket League 2019 after competing in various club and one-day competitions.

Noor Ahmad, who is only 17 years old, made his debut for Afghanistan as the team was defending a low score in the final game of the series to clinch a clean sweep. The young player, who just turned 17 this year, has a lot of experience playing sports after making his first-class and domestic T20 debuts in 2019 at the youthful age of 14.

Ahmad has also displayed exceptional talent on a global scale, having competed for Afghanistan in the ICC U19 Men's Cricket World Cup in both 2020 and 2022. In five matches at the 2020 edition in South Africa, he took seven wickets with an economy of just 3.93.

He was instrumental in Afghanistan's run to the semi-finals earlier this year in the West Indies when he was their equal second-highest wicket-taker with 10 wickets in six matches while allowing only 3.81 runs per over. Ahmad has shown flashes of his exceptional potential, despite the fact that it is very early in his international cricket career. The deft left-arm spinner is sure to advance in the years to come with the guidance of world-class spinners Rashid Khan, Mujeeb-ur-Rahman, and Mohammad Nabi.
