Umpiring is always a tough job as the officials have to be watchful all the time and they do make a mess of the task assigned to them sometimes. The third umpire pulled off such an act in a BBL fixture between Sydney and Brisbane declaring the batter to be not out before overturning the decision.

Jhye Richardson suffered a hamstring strain during Perth Scorchers’ defeat to Sydney Thunder on Wednesday night in BBL, and because of that, he has now been ruled out for two to three weeks. However, head coach Adam Voges is hopeful that he could be back for the BBL finals if the Scorchers qualify.

Sydney Thunder have terminated their BBL contract with pacer Fazalhaq Farooqi after a hearing held by Cricket Australia’s conduct commissioner. They received an official complaint about Farooqi's behaviour and decided to terminate the contract after the investigation and ruling by the commissioner.

With the tendency of batters to clear the fence frequently in recent times, spectators often get hurt with a body blow. One such incident occurred in the BBL on Tuesday as Alex Hales’ huge hit injured the eye of an individual but the batter immediately followed it up with an apology.
