The world No.1 ranked tennis player in women's rankings, Ashleigh Barty was seen playing a leg-glance with the tennis racquet and ball during her practice session in the ongoing Australian Open 2022. Ashleigh was once a professional cricketer and has played for Brisbane Heat in the Women's BBL.

During the Big Bash League match between Brisbane Heat and Melbourne Stars on Monday, Ben Duckett smashed a maximum using a reverse sweep shot against Qais Ahmad. In the 23rd match of the ongoing BBL, the left-hand batsman also scored 54 off 35 balls, which included six fours and two maximum.

Former India U-19 and India A captain Unmukt Chand on Thursday became the first India male player to sign for a Big Bash League (BBL) franchise. The 28-year-old announced his retirement from Indian cricket in August this year and moved to America after signing multi-year with Major League Cricket.

The Big Bash League is considering an introduction of a radical change to the timed out rule ahead of the 2021/22 season, aiming to speed up play. As per the proposed change, if a batsman doesn’t turn up on time, a bowler will be allowed a free-hit with stumps exposed to get him out first ball.
