Yashasvi Jaiswal was seen getting engaged in a controversy during the final of Duleep Trophy between West Zone and South Zone at SNR College Ground in Coimbatore. Jaiswal was engaged in a verbal argument with Ravi Teja and was sent off the field by skipper Ajinkya Rahane after multiple warnings.

Navdeep Saini's return to domestic cricket has suffered a halt after the pacer injured his groin while bowling in the Duleep Trophy, ruling him out of the remainder of the tournament. He will also sit out the one-days against New Zealand A, leading to Rishi Dhawan's call-up to India A squad.

Two more squads have been announced for the Duleep Trophy, with Manoj Tiwary and Mandeep Singh announced skippers for the East and North Zone respectively. Previously, Ajinkya Rahane and Karan Sharma were also named as captains for the tournament as it gears up to commence on September 8.
