Former India cricketer Atul Wassan is of opinion that Rohit Sharma’s statement backing Virat Kohli should have come much earlier before there were rumors of the rift between both of them. Rohit had recently backed Kohli in a recent pre-series press conference for T20I series against West Indies.

Atul Wassan believes that Ajinkya Rahane and Cheteshwar Pujara have not done enough with the bat in the South Africa series and might not get chances in the future. Wassan also added that the batsmen had lost the series this time as they didn’t give bowlers enough runs to defend 20 wickets.

Atul Wasan who, earlier this year, was named as the chairman of the Delhi District and Cricket Associations' (DDCA) senior selection panel, has been removed from the position and replaced by Bantoo Singh. Former players Chetanya Nanda and Anil Bhardwaj have also been named as Bantoo's co-selectors.
