Shubman Gill and Karun Nair made the South African bowlers toil hard on Day 1 of the second unofficial test in Mysore as India ended the day on 233/3. While Gill unfortunately fell in the nervous nineties for the second time in as many innings, Nair will resume Day 2 on 78 in quest of a century.

All-rounder Jalaj Saxena, with the help of Shahbaz Nadeem, strangled South Africa 'A' as hosts India 'A' thrashed the visitors by seven wickets. After scoring an unbeaten 61 in the first innings, Saxena claimed two wickets in the second to help set up an easy chase for India 'A' on Day 4.

South Africa have named uncapped Heinrich Klaasen and Wiaan Mulder in the 15-man squad for the first two Test matches against Australia that starts March 1. After an injury-plagued limited-overs series against India, the Proteas will see AB de Villiers and Faf du Plessis returning to the squad.
