In the wake of Duleep Trophy losing its relevance, Sachin Tendulkar hopes that Sourav Ganguly would bring back the glory days back to the tournament. The legendary cricketer has also added that cricket has always been a team sport and any compromise with that aspect would kill the element of it.

The players have openly supported the previously followed zonal formats over the present version which includes a random assortment of players in three different teams. They stated that it led players to be self-centric rather than work towards team goals due to not enough bonding with teammates.

Avesh Khan scored a fine 64 towards the end as India Red secured a one-run lead over India Green to take three points and top the points table entering the Duleep Trophy final. While Blue finished equal on points with Green, the latter made their place in the final courtesy a superior Net Run Rate.
